Oil Contamination

Cause:

Oil and grease are some of the worst enemies of rubber and weaken the structure of the belt. Eventually, a belt exposed to oil and grease will break due to heat, wear, and structural weakening.

Solution:

Eliminate sources of oil, grease or chemical contamination. Replace the belt. Prevent oily fluids from coming into contact with the belt.
