Gravel Penetration

Small holes are visible on the back of the strap. Impact marks may be visible and the fabric around the holes may be worn away.

Cause:

A foreign object such as gravel or sand in the wheel well can cause this problem. Cars with damaged engine guards are more likely to experience this problem.

Solution:

Replace the belt and make sure the new belt is properly seated on the pulley. Install the engine guard.
